April So Far

April has come and is almost done. I can't believe how fast it has gone. Not much has happened really. I am volunteering at the refugee center here in Twin Falls helping with ESL and I'll soon be "adopting" a burmese family and showing them around the place and introducing American culture and just being their friend in this new place that they're in. That's pretty much it for that.

We went to Salt Lake for Easter to be with my family. My brother Rick came in from New York and so it was good to be all together again. It was actually quite busy for us that weekend. We got down just in time to go to my parents' spanish branch party thingy and had some authentic Spanish food. Then on Saturday we went to the temple to a Spanish session for a boy that is going on a mission to France (he's actually in the MTC now-he will actually be teaching in his native language), then we went to City Creek Mall and I'll tell you it was crazy! There were so many people there and huge lines everywhere. Then Niels and I went to go visit my grandma. We were with her for about 3 hours. We went out and got KFC for dinner and then we talked and she played the new piano she got for her birthday for us. She played old songs that she used to play when she was a young woman. Isn't she cute?! I just love her! Here is a little video of her playing a song. She didn't like it that we recorded her (you'll see at the end the look she gives) and don't mind me and my stern look...I didn't want Niels looking at me, I wanted him to get my grandma.

 

Then on Easter Sunday, we went to the Music and the Spoken Word. It was great! The music was wonderful and the spirit was strong. We were also in great company not only with family, but President Monson and his wife were there and so was Elder Scott. This was the first time we went to this and it was a great experience. They were sitting listening to the organist. Then after that, we barely made it back to my home ward for Sacrament Meeting. It was good but it was also short, we got out 10-15 minutes early. Later we had a nice Easter meal with grandma and then we left around 6 or so. It was a great weekend.

Our car is finally fixed and I don't have to slide through the drivers door to get to my passenger seat. Someone backed up into us and it left a nice dent and paint on the passenger side. They aren't paying for it so we had to. Their stupid insurance wouldn't do anything because they told them it was a 50/50 fault.  We are bummed about it but what do you do?

Two falcons just sitting on the lines on our street. We actually saw the left one land, it was cool. They didn't like us staring at them and taking their picture, so they flew away. Niels really likes falcons, hawks, and eagles, so whenever he sees them he gets excited and just looks in awe.

Anyways, that's pretty much it. We aren't too thrilling of people but thought I'd blog away some things going on, that's all.
